Due to the chance of bad weather this evening the Back to School Party will now be held at Paramount Skating Rink in Ottawa tonight from 5-7pm. PTO will provide admission, skate rental, and pizza for all GRGS families. We hope to see everyone there!


Grand Ridge School District 95 Board Member Vacancy
Grand Ridge School District #95 is accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of a Board member. The applications will be accepted until August 10th 2026 at 3pm. The individual selected will serve on the school board from the date of appointment until Spring 2027. The anticipated date of appointment will be at our regularly scheduled Board meeting on August 11th. At Grand Ridge our vision is that we will educate all students to reach their highest potential. Grand Ridge will provide a safe learning environment, will respond to students' individual learning and emotional needs, and will maintain high expectations for achievement. Our goal is to develop students who are responsible, respectful, kind, and passionate about lifelong learning.
Applicants for the Board vacancy must:
• Be a United States citizen
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Illinois and our District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
• Be a registered voter
• Not be a child sex offender
• Not hold an incompatible public office
• Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District
• Not be a school trustee
• Not hold certain types of prohibited State or Federal employment
If you are interested in applying and filling this position please send a letter of interest including: why you want to be a Board member, what specific skills would you bring to the Board, and any previous experience in a community role. Communication in response to all applications will occur after the regularly scheduled Board meeting on August 11th 2026.


We are currently seeking passionate, dedicated, and student-focused individuals to join our athletic coaching staff for the upcoming school year!
Open Positions Include:
* Assistant Softball Coach (anticipated)
* Head Baseball Coach
* 7/8 Girls Head Basketball Coach (anticipated)
* 7/8 Girls Assistant Basketball Coach
* 5/6 Boys Head Basketball Coach
* 7/8 Boys Head Basketball Coach (anticipated)
Successful candidates will:
✅ Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development
✅ Provide positive leadership for student-athletes
✅ Communicate effectively with players, families, and school staff
✅ Help create a competitive and supportive athletic environment
Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required for all positions.

We are very proud of Zain and his performance this weekend at the IESA state track meet. He earned 6th place and a spot on the podium in the 110M Hurdles. Way to go Zain!


At Grand Ridge we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful group of teachers and staff that make a difference for our students. Day in and day out they are dedicated to making this school and community a better place.

On May 22nd 2026, at 9:00 a.m., a meeting conducted by Grand Ridge Community Consolidated School District #95 will take place at Grand Ridge Grade School/Google Meet. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are a parent of a home-schooled or private school student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of Grand Ridge CCSD #95, you are urged to attend. Congratulations to Alyssa Hladovcak! Her carefully crafted watercolor was framed by Heartland By Hand and it will be up for a silent auction starting the beginning of the week of Fine Arts Night, which is May 14th from 6:00-7:30 pm. You can see this piece up close in the front office at school this upcoming week. It will also be displayed at Open Space, Cat's Eye and a few other places yet to be announced in Ottawa and Streator.
